Americans, can you tell me how you all have such perfect teeth? to be honest mine are a disgrace yet?

I clean them almost everyday, I use mouth wash once a week.

I go to the dentist once a year

what more can I do? yet they look yellow, they not straight, one fell out last week.

I know I could floss but I tried that and my gums bled really badly

How can I get nice teeth like yours? All Americans have great big huge teeth like a horse and they white and perfect like tom cruise.

Please give me advice and help and lets build a bridge across the atlantic and be friends, I love Americans I am always in McDonalds

Americans, can you tell me how you all have such perfect teeth? to be honest mine are a disgrace yet?
Oh goooooooood question, darling. I'd like to know this too.

Actually, Americans, could you answer something for me as well?

How come none of you ever mention the amazing way you saved our limey asses in WW2? I mean, it was such an incredibly brave and courageous thing to do, any other nation would never shut up about it - but you guys, not a whisper.

I love you all, you mighty fine hunks of prime beef :-)
Reply:Well, that's half your problem. McDonald's food sucks.

Brush twice a day, and floss, no matter how much it hurts at first. Just keep doing it, and your teeth will get healthier.
Reply:Having your gums bleed is a sign you have weak gums so you should floss more. It could be just genetic. Some people just have bad teeth and all americans don't have perfect teeth. Mine are always going to be yellow for example.
Reply:ur gums bleed cuz theyre not used to flossing....theyre gonna bleed the first couple of times, then its gonan fell great...and maybe u can get braces to make them straight.
Reply:they bleed because you havent flossed

haha i go to the dentist every 4 months.

get braces and get yours whitened.

get a new tooth brush..

just take extra extra care of them

everyone is different...my top ones are hugee and perfect but my bottom ones are crooked. =[ i had braces but i never wore my retainer =[
Reply:LOL you make me LOL..

You're probably refering to the American Dental insurance...they cover the cost for your braces if you do need it and it also pays for preiodic dental check ups..

And no, not all AMerican have good teeth.

And no...Mcdonald's isnt good for you......try limiting yourself there once a week.
Reply:oh beleve me not all of us in USA have such great teeth but mine r good, yesterday i was in the dentist and i saw this mexican guy and his teeth had eroded!!!!!!!!!! it was hard 2 belive and it was scary for me
Reply:Um, not all Americans are like the ones you see in the movies. THe reason they have white teeth is because of editing or whitening treatment.

You need to brush your teeth in the morning after breakfast and in the evening after dinner, if you don't, that's pretty disgusting actually. Also eating healthier food (ie NOT MacDonald's) stops tooth decay
Reply:Haha stop going to McDonalds. Its bad for your teeth. And you really should see a dentist twice a year.

As far as flossing, you have to do it even if your gums bleed. This is a sign of gingivitis and it wont go away unless you keep flossing. The bleeding will stop.

Use a flouride mouth wash every single day. And brush them EVERY day TWICE a day. Three if you can manage it.
Reply:Go to the dentist more often, and instead of using mouth wash once a week, use it everyday....twice a day if possible. And don't stop flossing even though your mouth bleeds. Once you put flossing in your daily routine your gums will toughen up and stop bleeding. You should also try maybe getting an electric tooth brush. They clean a lot better.
Reply:a lot of Americans have false teeth
Reply:u might think about eating more healty food it will help the way u'r teeth are and u might want to ask about braces if u want u'r teeth straight... or a retainer u might want to ask u'r dentist for more instruction

it will be a good idea to ask u'r dentist u can call them

P.S.

u might want to use use mouthwash everyday

and brush u'r teeth 3 times i day onece in the morning

one in afternoon and once in the night...

it will help ALOT

hope this helps
Reply:Perpetuate the myth that all Brits have crap teeth why don't you?!
Reply:lots of americans have jacked up teeth, just like every other country. I am, however, pretty fortunate and have nice straight teeth, so does my daughter thank god. you should brush every day at least twice, floss at least once a day, go to the dentist twice a year, and for the yellowness, get crest white strips
Reply:LMAO

Go to the dentist more often and get vineers.
Reply:"All Americans have great big teeth like a horse and they white and perfect like tom cruise". Your quote, not mine. Pmsl! Why would you want to look like Mr.Ed?
Reply:well first u gotta brush 2 times a day, by the way im mike hawk, i use mouthwash in the mornin, my teeth are perfectly straight. try not eating a mickey D's 4 @ least 1 month. its all sugar there, there only like 5 things on the menu that dont have sugar. if u cant stop eating there, dont get ketchup, 2 part tomatoe, 57 part differnt kinds of sugar.4 ur flossing problem, start doing it daily, they are bleeding because they are really weak and u dont brush hard enough, the yellow is stains and u need to get ur teeth polished at the dentists. i hope i could have helped, and good luck!!!!!!!(p.s. u gotta go to the dentist 2 times a year at least just checkups and polishing)
Reply:several problems.

"clean them almost everyday" try twice a day or after meals

" mouth wash once a week" try twice a day

"dentist once a year" try twice a year

"gums bled really badly" go see a dentist.

"big huge teeth like a horse" nice comparison!

"build bridge across the Atlantic" nah gonna happen.

"I am always in McDonalds" Checked your display picture, stop going to Mcdonalds or you won't be able to fit the dental seat.
Reply:Well said crispy. It's about time somebody put out a welcoming still-greasy hand out to the fathers of junk food.

I don't know how they manage it either....I have seen that some have veneers put on their teeth ...because they are probably much worse than yours.

That's why their teeth look so big, it's because their fake teeth stick out from their mouths making them look kind of...er....plastic. I have noticed that Americans on TV all look fake, fraud and plastic and those tanned women in lycra on the Lateral thigh trainer (on late night tv ads) kind of remind me of Mr.Ed.

Well done for contributing to Anglo-American relations.
Reply:ha ha, your a funny FU C KER!!
Reply:You should clean your teeth at least twice a day, preferably three times after meals. You should also floss or use interdens brushes to clean in between and use mouthwash at least every morning after brushing. The bleeding may well be a symptom of gingivitis gum disease which if left untreated will result in bone loss and subsequent tooth loss (teeth become loose and painful as bone recedes). You should see your dentist twice annually for check ups. Americans on the whole invest in good dental care and cosmetic dentistry like whitening, veneers, bridges and crowns. You could have your teeth whitened but it is expensive and painful and you have other dental issues to address first. I'm not entirely sure your question is sincere.
Reply:All the above responders have good advice...see the dentist for regular cleanings more often. If you're at McD's all the time you're probably having a Coke w/ that BigMac and fries. Soft drinks are killers to the teeth. Something to do w/ the phosphorous content. It breaks down calcium in the body. Drink milk or take calcium supplements. Keep flossing, daily, brush after every meal. Sounds like you're from Europe (duh?). Most American drinking water is flouridated and chlorinated. So...we Americans get a bit of dental hygiene every time we have a glass of water. Good luck to you, and Happy New Year!
Reply:Not American, though can tell you the little I have found out about keeping good teeth. Mine are nothing to rave about, but I have them all still.

Brush using soft to ultra soft brush only.

Brush from gums down for top teeth, or up for the bottom teeth only--not side to side for side to side brushing can increase receding gums.

Alcohol based mouthwash changes the bacterial composition somehow in your mouth and only serves to mask the smell and actually can be harmful...and you will have to use something prescribed from a dentist to rinse with to return your mouth to it's natural bacterial composition.

Teeth grinding is common and usually goes unnoticed for a long time. Teeth grinding assisted mouth pieces are recommended though very expensive, most people grind their teeth in their sleep and that cracks enamel and can lead to root canal.

Digital camera x-rays will show you exactly where the gum line is receding, and other poor features of your teeth, so shop for a dentist that uses that (as opposed to just regular x-rays) just to see your mouth up close on t.v. and that will help you to identify problems.

Simple quick rinse with water often after eating anything as opposed to rushing to brush your teeth every time, as vigorous brushing removes enamel, which will never grow back.

If you get a retainer you can store cold cuts in it for snack.....just seeing if you were reading......;)

Last thing, haven't tried it yet, but sensodyne toothpaste with enamel enhancer is supposed to help retain healthy enamel.
Reply:LMFAO ...'like a horse...' haha
Reply:Americans having perfect teeth? may be perfect artifical teeth. The blacks have the best.
Reply:Beer and cigarettes! I've got 32 straight teeth, never had braces, no cavities, tight gums, and been to the dentist only 5 or 6 times because I worked for one. I swear the dental cleanings help rot your teeth faster!
Reply:Tom Cruise has nice teeth because he's a Level 7 Theta. Because he believes, much like colds or headaches, he hasn't had a cavity in years.

Build a bridge across the Atlantic? That's a big bridge. Tell you what. We'll build it, and then let you pay for it over the next 50 years with 2% interest, with annual payments and the ability to defer if you don't have the money at that time.

Do they have the McRib over there? Order me one of those.

My orthadontist says my teeth are too small? help!??!?

it seems he's finding everything wrong with my teeth. first the bite, then the shape , now the size. i'm almost done with my braces, but im nervous as now he says my teeth are "too small" and they would look better if my teeth were bigger. how do they do this?!?! how do specialists make your teeth bigger?

My orthadontist says my teeth are too small? help!??!?
it may not exactly be your teeth that are small. you just may have too much gum tissue, and you can vary well correct this problem with crown lengthening, or otherwords Cosmetic Gum Surgery, Used to correct a 'gummy smile' (a significant portion of your gum is exposed when you smile), cosmetic gum surgery is the procedure of lengthening your teeth from the neck of the tooth upwards. Your teeth then appear to be longer and much less gum is seen when you smile.

or, if it is, your teeth that very well tend to be small, and you do not have much gum tissue, there is a procedure to fix this problem as well too. Dental Bondings and/or Veneers, can be used to lengthen your teeth.

the specialists that do this job are Cosmetic Dentists.
Reply:Im exactly like you apart from my mouth is too small for my teeth LOL . they cannit really do anything i dont think .
Reply:they did that to me it hurts but it is all worth it in the end

Im about to get an expander in my mouth but i already have a gap between my teeth with it get bigger?

Will my gap in my two front teeth get bigger?

Im about to get an expander in my mouth but i already have a gap between my teeth with it get bigger?
I assume when you say expander you mean you're going to get an expander fixed into your mouth to make your upper jaw bigger.

The gap between your two front teeth will get bigger - but not to worry! After a while, the gap will shrink down again because of the gums pulling it close. Anyway, because you already have an existing gap I'm sure your orthodontist will then fix up the gap for you with braces after the expansion is done.

Hope this helps.

What do you feel about getting your teeth shaved down?

i lose confidence cuz i have big front teeth!? and i think im gonna get them shaved down to match the teeth next to them! would that be a good idea?

What do you feel about getting your teeth shaved down?
Girl! Your teeth are fine! Mine are small and I wish that they were a little bigger! Be happy that you have teeth. There are millions of people that don't. You have a great smile! Don't do anything to it.
Reply:I wouldn't advise it. About 5 years ago, I chipped one of my front teeth pretty bad requiring it to be capped. I had to have it redone earlier this year which meant they had to grind it down some. Increased sensitivity will result. And lemme tell ya - that can be pretty freakin miserable! The sensitivity comes and goes for me - like last Friday, for some reason, it was horrible...everything that went into my mouth (I always have a bottle of water with me) had to be room temp or I was miserable!

Im 19 My adult teeth feel like thier wobbling?

exactly what the title says. they don't actually move great amounts they just feel loose. the 2 big front teeth. is this normal?

Im 19 My adult teeth feel like thier wobbling?
go to the dentist, i had the same problem and it was a gum infection. A simple antibiotic and a prescription mouth wash healed it. It could get really bad and turn into something more serious. If u don't have insurance a visit should only run u around $40-70. Or try a county clinic.
Reply:are u sure your 19!?
Reply:Maybe its because you're not really brushing your teeth that well
Reply:Sometimes this can be a result of gum disease. You should see a Dentist.
Reply:Ask your dentist to refer you to a PERIODONTIST. Your gums may be receding, and they need to be brought back into place or you could lose your teeth.
Reply:it might just be because they're shifting around, have you ever had braces?
Reply:Floss...once the gums get cleaned out, they will tighten back up.
Reply:if you had braces at some point start wearing your retainer again
Reply:Yes and no---depends on how much they are flexing (moving). Teeth should have alittle flex to them, but in your case it sounds like it might be more than the norm.

Have your dental professional inspect this problem to best diagnose the problem.

You might have bone loss due to gum disease

You might be clenching and grinding your teeth

You might have short roots in combination w/the above

All of which could be causing this problem or a combination of or one of these might be your reason for mobility in your teeth.

Do your best to keep your smile as clean as possible and make your appt. ASAP--
Reply:unless you don't mind losing your front teeth I'd get them checked. I always hated going to the dentist so I never went unless I really had to. When I was 14 I noticed my teeth seemed to be getting a little wobbly, and I figured it would just go away but it didn't. Then when I was 15 I actually lost 3 of my front teeth and I ended up losing them all because of advanced gum infection. I didn't even know I had it, but I lost all of my teeth at 15 because of it. like I said better to get it checked out before you lose your teeth.

What if my dog lost his front teeth?

I got a puppy and I think he might be around 3 1/2 months old but I am not sure. He is a mini schnauzer, and he chewed threw a baby gate and lost about 4 front teeth. What if those were his "big dog" teeth, what will happen to him now?

What if my dog lost his front teeth?
Likely at that age they are not his adult teeth -- adult teeth are way hard to knock out as their roots are embedded in their jaw bone so while they can be knocked out, it is highly unlikely chewing on a baby gate would do it and it is very likely that chewing on a baby gate would dislodge his baby teeth :) When he is a little older, the adult teeth should start coming in -- you will notice the present teeth will start looking 'sparce' - like there is a lot of space between them as the jaw (and puppy) grows and the teeth just aren't adequate -- they will continue falling out, even the molars, and he will grow in larger, stronger adult teeth. Watch to make sure that none of the sharp little baby teeth are retained as they can make the adult teeth grow in crooked. This often will happen in the smaller breeds and makes it to where they need to have them removed by the vet - so it is actually a good thing that he is helping remove his baby teeth :)
Reply:At 3.5 months, they were most likely his baby teeth. The adult teeth don't come out so easily! Wow though, you've got yourself a strong little chewer there!
Reply:i work at a vet clinic and nothing will happen if those were his adult teeth of course they wont grow back if that's the case. he just wont have any front teeth some dogs don't have any teeth at all only problem is his tounge may hang out alittle chineese crested dogs are good for not having teeth or just losing there teeth so you have nothing to worry about. just make sure your dogs mouth don't get infected if he tore his gums up but i doubt they were his adult teeth puppys start losing there baby teeth around 3 or 4 months anyways
Reply:If those were his adult dog teeth--that would really suck for him cuz he wouldn't be able to eat alot of food without those front teeth--but chances are, his adult teeth will be alot stronger.
Reply:get him some false ones

Teeth trouble?

Ok, I'm 12 and on my left side my second to farthest tooth hurt me reallllly badly, so I pulled it out (but it was allready lose, not much though) Do you think it is a grown-up tooth and I will need a fake one? Also my tooth next to it (3d back) hurts really bad when ever I touch it. Really bad! But I won't pull it out becuz I'm pretty dang shure it is a big thooth. Does any-one know what's wrong? Or some suggestions? And was my tooth big or not?

Teeth trouble?
You probably pulled a baby tooth, you would never be able to pull a big or permanent tooth, roots are way too long. Now the one that's hurting you, the one that was next to this one, it's probably a baby molar, which looks like a permanent tooth, but it isn't. It's probably loose or may just be sore from the one you pulled. At 12 years old you have several teeth that are coming in, your bi's or premolars and 2nd molars. This is a list that may help you to understand which ones are on their way, which are baby teeth and what you have now that are permanent. Hope I've been of some help and good luck! Just don't pull any that aren't loose and you'll be fine. You can check out this site for some helpful information. http://www.simplyteeth.com/category/sect...

Reply:Ask your dentist, child.
Reply:It sounds like it may have just been a little tooth. If it hurts bad to touch and doesnt feel loose I would ask to go to the dentist or ask your mom or dad what they think. I cant see it so it is too hard for me to see and try to help.
Reply:go to the dentist.
Reply:Definitely talk to your dentist. He or she can tell you what happened and help you get rid of your current pain.
Reply:You may just have wisdom teeth coming in, as far as knowing if it was a baby tooth you pulled out. That's easy. Your grown up teeth have a root (its big so you would know if that's what you pulled out) so if its just the tooth .... with out the root your fine also .. wait a Little bit to see if the pain goes away.. If it does then your teeth were probably just pushed together now that you pulled one out they should shift and feel better soon , Good luck!
Reply:maybe you need to brush your teeth a little more or go to the dentist so they can check it out

Why do so many celebs not fix their teeth???

I'm not trying to be mean but why don't missy elliot, jewel, and reverend run's whole family fix their teeth??? If i were a celeb and i had big, buck teeth or crooked teeth that would be the first thing i'd do. where i come from regular people get braces (white, black, hispanic). Do u think it's just because they are trying to be unique??

Why do so many celebs not fix their teeth???
I think that they are trying to look more genuine and approachable. So many people in the entertainment industry get evreything "improved" so greatly- that they don't look like real people anymore. I think it is a simple way to look more "real" to their fans. The first person to come to my mind is Madonna. She still has her little gap between her teeth, but her smile looks white and healthy. Elton John has the same gap...it's charming. If they get porcelain veneers and/or caps, their smiles would just look like everyone elses...I was happy to see Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters got his teeth fixed...he looks much better now.
Reply:Yes, they are being unique, like Barbara Streisand not getting a nose job.
Reply:I have always wondered that too! and i have noooo idea!
Reply:not unique it is just tv "perfection"
Reply:I would too ... but I'm thinking maybe it gives them character or helps them be real... I don't know the real answer but you look at old supermodels like Lauren Hutton .. she was known for the gap in her teeth ... sometimes, it's just not needed.. but yeah, if i had their money that'd be one of the first things I'd do!
Reply:simple, its their "mark"
Reply:I feel the same you do i really don't know why they don't get their teeth fixed, maybe they don't even think about it because everybody likes them so i guess they don't care.
Reply:Did you fix yours? (I'm not trying to be mean..)
Reply:Who knows...if I had that kind of money I wouldn't be walking around looking like a doof (funny) lol
Reply:I think they don't want to be seen just for there teeth being fixed there are a lot of them that are remembered because of a certain part of their body so i don't think they ever will fix it.
Reply:It hurts alot to have your teeth "fixed" like that and if they have fresh breath do you really care that much about how their teeth look? I never said to myself I am not going to watch that movie cause the guys teeth are not plastic surgery perfect.....lol funny question
Reply:being unique, it's how they are known or their mark.
Reply:idk

When do you get your wisdom teeth?

I want to know because I will be getting braces soon and I don't have my wisdom teeth and since when I was little I had one of my big permanent teeth removed (on the bottom) and I would like to have a good ammount of teeth and not have one missing anymore. So I was wondering when they grew in and if they grow in while I have my braces will they remove them or just connect them to the braces?

When do you get your wisdom teeth?
They are normally out by 18. If your are getting braces do not worry about your wisdom teeth. In most cases they do not affect the orthodontic treatment. Your orthodontics not your dentist will let you know.
Reply:everyone has wisdom teeth, i just had mine removed 2 days ago... but they wernt comming throught yet.

i had to go under anestetic and get them cut out.

its best to get them removed before u get the braces becasue it may cause ur teeth to move or crowd after u have had your braces and then u will have wasted all this money

Buck teeth?

im 22 years old, female, getting married next summer. i have two big bucked teeth right in front and when i smile you can see my gums. which is why i never smile. im sick out it and with my wedding coming up, i want pictures where im smiling and happy. what can i do to fix this? the least painfull method is preferred.

Buck teeth?
Well if price is not an issue, it seems that money can buy you a perfect smile!

If an orthodontist can't help you, try cosmetic surgery.

I bet you're beautiful anyway.
Reply:Honey, The best thing would be to see an orthodonist!! They are ok with payment plans.
Reply:Since price is not an issue and you have your wedding coming up, you should look into having cosmetic surgery. They can fix your teeth with veneers and it isn't painful and only takes a couple of visits. Call your dentist and ask if they do this, and if they don't, ask them to refer you to someone. Make an appointment for a consultation and see what they can do for you. (People in the modeling and entertainment industry do this all the time.)
Reply:if none of these options work, you could just photoshop the picture, assuming you can get them on a digital memory card.
Reply:I would call a local orthodontist that has a good rep. I am not sure how braces would not help bucked teeth, but a orthodontist should be able to do a consult on what you can do.....maybe veneers would help....
Reply:Find a good cosmetic dentist. Veneers are probably the quickest solution.

I have 2 really loose adult teeth, can I just take them out?

I'm 14 and 6 weeks ago I broke my 2 big front teeth on top and had to have the broken pieces pulled out. Now the 2 teeth next to the gap are so wobbly they're about to fall out. Can I just take them out since I have to get some fake teeth anyway? They're really loose, I mean they move when I talk they're so loose.

I have 2 really loose adult teeth, can I just take them out?
I'd just take them out. I did it when I had some that were really loose. Since you'll be getting something to replace the teeth that were already out, I don't see where 2 more would cost a lot more.
Reply:go to your dentist, he can save those teeth, he can splint them in
Reply:I would take them out .
Reply:Geez man, talk to a dentist! Unless there is a dentist on here how can anyone answer that.
Reply:Oh man i say go to the dentist quickly. Dont pull-em out because you could get infected with just hands touching it, and then ull have a gum infection.
Reply:You should really call a dentist fast and thats very important HURRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:you can go to the dentist...

or

take them out and put them in milk this will keep the nutrience and calcium in it... the dentist will put them back in
Reply:Believe me getting fake teeth is probably going to be more expensive than him just fixing those, so if the problem is no dental insurance, then you probably would at least what to call and find out which would be cheaper. Putting them in milk will hold the calcium in them for the dentist to put them back in, but this will only work if you plan on going to the dentist very soon. I suggest calling the office and getting thier advise. They are the only ones that know thier pricing. I hope this helps. Good luck.
Reply:I'd just take them out. If they're that loose they're probly not worth saving if it's even possible which I doubt.
Reply:no corn on the cob for yu!!! but I bet yu can spit like a cobra on steroids!!!
Reply:If you keep taking teeth out like that you'll soon have none left. It sounds like you have more than a few that need some attention soon if the other ones just broke without being hit or anything. Better get the rest checked soon or you'll be needing more than 4 or 5 false teeth.

How much do fake teeth cost?

Monday at lunch I bit a carrot and broke my 2 big front teeth on top. They broke just inside the gum and they were black inside. I haven't been to a dentist since I was 9(I'm 14 now) but I thought I was takin good care of my teeth. Anyways, my mom took me to a dentist the next day and I had the broken parts pulled out. So now I need to get some fake teeth to put there cuz I have a huge hole in my smile. We don't have dental insurance so I need a cheaper fix if possible for now at least. I hate walkin around like this.

How much do fake teeth cost?
Ask your dentist, but at your age, I expect I'd do a "flipper" like many hockey players have. It would cost about $700 - maybe more and maybe less, but close to $700.
Reply:If you went to the dentist to have the teeth pulled out, he would probably be the one to talk to again. There are programs that will help your parents to get your teeth fixed.

Your school would probably be able to help also. The school nurse could probably recommend something for you also.
Reply:By a good dentist about a thousand.
Reply:They cost about a couple hundred dollars. Around 200-???
Reply:you would have to go to the dentist to know how much it could cost
Reply:I agree w/ Dr. Sam - a "flipper" is a good solution; this is basically a plastic doo-hickey, like a retainer that fits up against the roof of your mouth and has teeth on the end so that you look like teeth. it's not great for eating, but it beats having the spaces.

If it were my office and there was a kiddo w/ no access to insurance, I would probably do it super cheap - $2-300 would easily cover my lab costs... I'm sure Dr. Sam doesn't depend on flippers to make or break his car payments! lol....

However, after you've had them you'll realize they aren't that great; the next step is get a job and start savin' for soemthing better... a bridge in your situation would cost nearly $6000 and the BEST treatment is two implants, which should cost maybe $4000 EACH....

ALSO, get back to taht dentist! if you had two APPARENTLY healthy teeth that broke, I would guess you have decay ELSEwhere in your mouth, so get it checked out to get fillings if nec. and prevetn more breakage!
Reply:Listen to Dr Swanson he knows what he is talking about.

I work in a dental lab where they make "Flippers" which is just a fancy name for a 1 or 2 tooth partial denture and they cost about $100 to the dentist.

I am not sure but if you can have crowns or laminates put on your teeth that would be the best thing but you cant have them put on then implants is your other option and like the dr said they are a small fortune.

Call the vet but also start trying to wiggle the baby teeth frequently and give your dog lots of chew toys to try and move the teeth on their own
Reply:Call your vet and ask if it can be fixed at the same time as you neuter or if he needs to go in now. They may be a bit stuck, and could cause growth problems of his adult teeth if left too long, but a vet will tell you for sure.
Reply:retaining puppy teeth is a common problem in small breeds. You should make an appt with the vet.. he may want to pull the puppy teeth while he is being neutered.

Sometimes they will fall out on their own.. but not always. If the baby teeth do not come out, it can cause the adult teeth to come in funny.

You can give him some frozen treats to try to help loosen those baby teeth in the meantime. But I would definantly still talk to the vet about it.. he will most likely want to remove any while he is already under.
Reply:my 6 month old australian shepherd is the same way!!! i always tell her she looks like a goof ball cause she has 3 extra teeth (one fell out 2 days ago.) they will fall out when they are ready. thats naturally how they grow in. sure, the vet isnt going to refuse something to make more money, but every dog ive seen that has gone from puppy to big dog their teeth grew in like that. good luck!
Reply:you definitely will want to get those baby teeth out of there.. at the clinic I work at the vets will pull the baby teeth at the time of neuter/spay.. so definitely let your vet know when you schedule the neuter that you will also need them to check for and pull all baby teeth.. if they're not pulled and don't fall out on their own they will cause problems later on
Reply:Make sure he has plenty of chew toys, and does lots of chewing. Nylabones are great for working out stubborn baby teeth. It's not too late for him to work those out. My littlest Chihuahua is 7 months, and just a few weeks ago, finally lost her last 2 canines. I was getting worried was going to have to take her to have them removed. I bought her a new chicken flavored nylabone, and 3 days later, both baby teeth, that felt tightly in there before were gone!
Reply:Yes, they can neuter and remove the teeth at the same time.

The same thing happened to my Tank, Miniature Schnauzer. His vet recommended that I wait until it was time to get him fixed so that everything can be done at one time while he is under anesthesia.

Teeth going clear?

my 2 front teeth seem to look like the enamel is going clear like "See Through". does anybody know what is wrong? also on my tooth next to my 2 big front teeth has a white patch on it, why is that?

Teeth going clear?
The incisors going clear is a sign of acid erosion on teeth, this occurs as the enamel is thinned at the tips (biting surface) of the teeth.

You need to use a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth and see your dentist.

Fizzy drinks are the major cause of enamel erosion.

The white patch can be caused by several factors, but isnt anything to worry about.

You should visit your own dentist this week, for check-up and voice your concerns

Reply:I'm a dentist.

Enamel, believe it or not, is actually translucent. It is the dentin beneath the enamel that gives your tooth most of its color. Some people have more enamel extending past the dentin at the edges of their front teeth than others. Hence their teeth are more "see through" at the edges. Some people have thinner dentin at the teeth edges, which causes the same effect.

One other thing to consider. Whitening teeth with thin biting edges can also cause this undersired translucency.

As for the white patch, that is often a developmental phenomenon, and is an area of hypocalcification of the enamel. Most people have them, and they are of no clinical significance.

Fused teeth in 2yr old?

My little girl is 2 and we went to the dentist to be told that her lower right incisor is fused with the adjacent tooth. I went to the dentist because I felt there was no space for the bottom right. Instead it would appear that the two teeth had fused.

Has anyone been through this and what are the chances that her permanent teeth might be ok, i.e. she will have not have a single big fused tooth instead of 2 separate ones.

Does anyone have any information/experience of this? I would love to here from you.

Fused teeth in 2yr old?
Yes, my son's top front and the one next to it of his adult teeth were fused together into one huge front tooth, which looked terrible. To cut a long story short, he had it taken out, and luckily had an extra tooth growing on the other side of the joined one, which a very clever orthodontist has used a brace to move along so that the spare tooth is now his other front tooth in the gap where the fused one was. It has taken three years of braces and is nowhere near finished yet. But looks fine now.

The orthodontist and all the other people he consulted had never come across anything like it before - he was quite famous among them! He still has to have an operation to stop the muscle trying to move the replacement tooth back to where it came from.

The good news is, his baby teeth didn't have this problem, so I would assume that your daughter's teeth will be separate when the adult ones grow.

Good luck! :-)
Reply:woah i never heard of that happening before!
Reply:Sometimes this can be genetic and can happen in the permanent teeth also. Sometimes it is a freak thing that will not happen again. And, sometimes it is due to an illness (fever) or drug taken while you were pregnant that may have caused disruption in the tooth cells and caused this and would not show up in the permanent teeth. No telling, unless this runs in your family.
Reply:This is a fairly common genetic problem it happens with incisors . I've been a dental nurse for 20 years and have seen about 10 cases. None of them went on to have problems with their adult teeth. Even if her adult teeth are fused as it's lower teeth it won't be noticable - so don't worry! Just keep her teeth clean and I'm sure she will go on to have a healthy beautiful smile!
Reply:My daughter is 7 and her 2 front teeth on the top were fused together. It looked like a huge permanent tooth in the middle of her mouth. we finally had to pull it just about 3 months ago, because it had two root stems and one side was loose and the other not so much. They told us it was very unlikely that her permanent teeth would not be fused. Well, we went to the dentist and they took x-ray of her mouth and her new ones will be fused also. Except instead of one tooth and 2 roots its 2 teeth with one root (looks like un upside down heart). Needless to say, you wont know about her permanent teeth until she's old enough to loose the baby ones. I sympathize with you though. At first I was shocked and scared people would make fun of her, but in all her years only 2 people have actually said something negative to her about it. That doesn't stop her from telling everyone she knows about it. it's unique and she should be proud of it. And when it comes time that her permanent teeth are fused, do what I do... see every dentist, orthodontist, periodontist etc. and decide what is best for her. Good luck.

I have really bad teeth?

I am 14 years old but my teeth are so bad! It's not like " go to dentist and get a filling" because I don't think dentists can fill holes this big. My teeth are so horribe and on the tops they are all black. The holes in them are huge like they take up the whole tooth and they are really deep holes too. Basically what can I do? I dont think brushing teeth will help. They are like this because ive only ever been taken to the dentist once in my life and because when i was younger i couldnt be bothered to brush my teeth, and as i got older and i looked at them i thought it was too late and i never bothered. If i could have my teeth back again though i would look after them really well! I'm only 14 and my teeth really depress me :(

I have really bad teeth?
Oh, honey... I am sooo sorry.

Your parents should have taken care of this way before it started. You should have been taken to the dentist! At least you would have been instructed and monitored as to your tooth health. Now it may be a little too late, but you still have to go. A dentist can help you. If your parents don't do anything about it, call around to some dentists yourself. You may find one that will take pity on you and decide to help you for free. If not, call your local Health Department or Family Children Services and tell them your situation. Their job is to help out in these situations. This needs to be taken care of. Don't ignore it any longer!! DO SOMETHING before it's way too late. Good luck and God bless you.
Reply:get verners, they are tops which go over your teeth. I have them, they look great
Reply:just go the dentist yourself or ask your parents to take you.

sounds like youve got lots of problems matey..best go soon whilst your young enough not to have to pay.
Reply:What you now have is the result of your neglect. Eventually you will have to do something about them the pain will get so bad

Since you are now aware that you have a problem, why don't you go to see a Dentist, and let him decide what can be done. When you were younger, you thought you new all about it, now that you are older let the Professional decide what can be done , and then follow through with it. Best wishes, and a Happy New Year
Reply:Typical lesson for those requiring help , take care of them from the start
Reply:Its not too late.

Go to the dentist, and you can be helped.

21 & teeth are slipping behind my others I dont really want full metal braces is there any other options?

I have both my lower Wisdom teeth removed %26amp; also one of my big lower teeth on the left, but on my lower teeth %26amp; upper I have one or two teeth slipping behind the rest I really notice it in pictures so I hate to smile now.. Is there any other options apart from full metal braces?.. I clean my teeth alot %26amp; dont like sweet things or suger but I do have fillings... Anyone have any ideas please....

21 %26amp; teeth are slipping behind my others I dont really want full metal braces is there any other options?
you could either get the metal braces, or invisaline. invisaline is a retainer that you get, they are like braces. they make a mold of your teeth and make your retainer. you wear it all day all night except for when you eat. and you have to brush your teeth every meal. some dentists carry it, others dont.
Reply:Ask your dentist for Invisalign. They are invisible braces to the naked eye but they cost loads.
Reply:You can get porcelain veneers or the cheaper alternative plastic veneers. It consists of reshaping the tooth and placing thin sheets on top of your real teeth to create a perfect smile. Price per tooth can range anywhere from 200-500 dollars depending on insurance and where you live.
Reply:Veneers are an option but believe me they are quite expensive. Cost me over £500 to have 3 done, well worth it as now I can smile without being self conscious. Have a chat with your dentist and see what they suggest and the price involved.
Reply:Get the new inner brace that fits on the inside of your teeth so can't be seen as clearly as the other ones.
Reply:invasalign, but htye will only align your teeth, not fix and over or underbite.
Reply:when i was a kid my parents made me have a brace but not just any old brace a big fat head brace i was 15 and had to wear it 24/7 for a year!!i had rabbit teeth where i sucked my thumb as a young child, you are still young, so i think if its making you that conscious and it will only get worse, then get yourself to the dentist there's so many options now and by the sound of it you wont be wearing it for long and think of that lovely smile you will have!!
Reply:theres this thing called invisiline or something...its like a clear plastic retainer that goes over ur teeth...search the web for them!! u just have to wear um at night.

Two different dentists have filed my teeth down, all my teeth are unaligned and my jaw is sore? how to fix?

here's the whole story:

i chipped a bunch of my teeth one day.

the FIRST DENTIST i saw was terrible and filed the front of the bottom teeth so that my two BIG TOP TEETH wouldn't come in contact at all with my bottom teeth. Then the second dentist filed the back of my molars in the very back as well.

so now my bite is extremely LOW.

it's all uneven.

i feel like i do not have enough "teeth" on my teeth?

if that makes sense.

in lame-ans terms, the dentists filed my teeth all different ways, everything hurts, how do i go about having this repared?

can they add to m teeth just as easily that they have taken away?

will i ever have my old teeth back :(

it's been almost 5 months.

i'm going insane.

i can't focus in school.

my grades are terrible.

i am OBSESSED with my teeth,

and this incident happens.

i am going to a new dentist this monday.

what do i say to get my teeth fixed?

Two different dentists have filed my teeth down, all my teeth are unaligned and my jaw is sore? how to fix?
crowns is about the only way to fix this , BUT they will never be right

I had some ground off ,from one of them SOB's
Reply:You could get vaneers or something like that in order to restore a smile that you're happy with. They can be expensive, however.
Reply:I am not a professional, but maybe they can put some tooth colored bonding on the exposed dentin (might be causing some pain). Enamel once it is gone is sadly pretty gone. You might try tooth desensitizer, um, maybe a tooth guard at night (you might be grinding your teeth in your sleep)...

I slipped on ice over 14 years ago and chipped my front incisor. The dentist filed it down and FILLED it in. All for $300 dollars! He said it might darken down the road (die) and need more work, but (knock on wood) it has lived and done well.

Well best of wishes. I know tooth pain and am pretty painfree right now thanks to tooth desensitizer and a couple of gum grafts....

Cheers...

Does wearing braces make your teeth look bigger after you've taken them off?

My friends and I were looking at pictures and noticed that the people who previously had braces looked like they had teeth that were bigger than those that didn't. Does wearing braces push your gums back?

Does wearing braces make your teeth look bigger after you've taken them off?
I've had braces, and so have a lot of my friends. I personally felt that my teeth looked bigger, but then I realised that I hadn't seen them without braces on them for a while, and probably wasn't used to seeing them normally. Another thing that might make them look bigger is if the teeth were very badly positioned in the mouth to begin with, on angles and such. If the teeth then become straightened, they may look bigger. Hope this helps!
Reply:No.
Reply:Of course, just look to your left! lol
Reply:I guess so... my bilingual boss %26amp; my retarded speaking co-worker think so.... so I suppose so!
Reply:Umm yeah, I have seen these photos of this nasty lookin beezy and when she smiles she looks like Mr.Ed.
Reply:of course not! there is no way that it's possible to get bigger teeth by trying to rotate and reposition your teeth. maybe it's some kind of optical illusion that you see, but your teeth will not be able to grow more dentin, pulp, enamel, etc. just by moving them. however, it is possible to shorten your roots if your teeth move too quickly, but that's below the gum line. maybe it looks bigger because they're teeth are close together and equally positioned to look as if they grew.

My right teeth are bigger then left?

The teeth on my right side are bigger then the ones of my left side. Does anyone know what this is called? And how can I fix this to make them even?

My right teeth are bigger then left?
This is NOT a big deal. Probably no one even notices it but you. As long as your teeth and mouth are healthy, you have nothing to worry about.
Reply:Of course they are. One hand is a bit bigger, one foot is a bit bigger, one ear is a bit bigger. People aren't symetrical. Probably you're the only one who notices this.

How do i naturally make my teeth bigger?

without any surgical procedures. please help? does brushing them a lot help? im 13 and my teeth still have tiny gaps and are small. but they are perfectly straight.

How do i naturally make my teeth bigger?
At your age, there may still be some closure of the gaps to occur. Your gums may also have some retraction yet to occur. So it's a bit early to plan any real treatment.

If gaps continue to be a problem, then composite bonding or porcelain veneers would be the most likely solution. Crowns are reserved for teeth already weakened by decay and fillings. Beware that if you make your teeth wider with one of these options, it will make your teeth look fatter and hence shorter. A temporary mockup with unbonded composite will give you a look at the final results.

If you have an excessively low gumline, then surgical crown lengthening will be the only way to go when you're older. It's no big deal, but can have a dramatic effect. Should be done by a gum specialist (periodontist).
Reply:To close the gaps braces will most likely be required if all of your teeth have erupted. You can't make your teeth get bigger unless you get crowns. You can however make them longer with crown lengthening if they are not fully erupted.
Reply:There's no way to naturally make your teeth bigger. That sort of thing is genetic. You may end up having to get braces to close the gaps. Unfortunately, there just isn't any other way.

How do I get my new puppy to stop biting people? It use to be cute, but he's getting bigger with bigger teeth.

Buy a leash!!!

Learn to Train him to do what you want him to. Start to take walks with him. Make sure YOU are in control on the walks. First thing you teach is SIT, then Walk, then sit then walk.

Practice a lot and reward him when he does what he is told every time. Scold him in a short Firm Voice. Reward him with treats and a slow loving voice. Be firm.

After you teach him to walk and stop and sit, THEN you can move on to STAY..

THEN you can move on to harder things like teaching him not to bite. Some people say bite him back on the ear. This CAN work, but is a bit wierd to some people.

Always correct him Instantly and in a firm Sharp voice for biting. NEVER laugh about it because it is NOT cute. Remember that Dogs want something. He may enjoy the REACTION you give hime when he bites. Make sure the reaction he gets is absolutely something that he DOES not LIKE. Be sure to reward him for ALL the behaviors YOU do like Instantly.

Treats or Love, it does not matter as long as your dog responds to it.

Dog can be lonely and insecure.

They need love and affection, but he also need discipline.

Take the approach that you are going to Completely Train him, not just how to stop one irritating behavior and you will both be much happier.

Remember, it is not always so much the DOG that needs to be trained, but the owner. YOU need to learn What to do and what not to do.

Almost Everything that you learn here will be able to be applied to children ages 6 months to 4 years too (well the basic methods are the same. You have to keep them on a SHORT Leash too).

If you have ever nursed a Baby that bites, you would already know how to stop it. With a baby, you pull his food source away which captures his attention, then Scold him/her by saying NO! If it cries, that is OK. After a second or two, you go back to loving it and resume feeding.

Puppies LOve to play. But, if he bites, stop playing immediately, correct him firmly with a totally different sounding tone of voice that he does not like. Then after a few seconds you can go right back to playing with him.

The links below may be quite helpful. Some link to Videos for free download HOW to train your dog. Others are just for info.

Good Luck.

How do I get my new puppy to stop biting people? It use to be cute, but he's getting bigger with bigger teeth.
You should never have let him do it in the first place. When he does it just say "no!" and go on top of him in an aggressive dominant behavior. Since he probably won't like that he might stop.
Reply:You just have to be firm with him. Everytime he does flick him on the nose and say 'No.' He'll get it if you train him.
Reply:if you bring it into contact with a LOT of people, it might get used to being around ppl. Also, for the time being, if you want to minimize the wound it causes to other ppl, give it hard stuff to bite, like bones. it obviously makes it's teeth less sharper. and don't hit it or anything. it's gonna get more aggressive and take it's anger out on other ppl. just socialize it. might help. good luck!
Reply:Puppies are like human babies, he is teething still. Chewing, even on people, makes his mouth feel better. Make sure he has several chew toys. When he goes for people instead of chew toys or bones, etc, reprimand him with shame. Every dog loves to please there owners. Shame and praise, that the soulution plain and simple with dogs. No violence though.
Reply:pop him on his leg with your hand not hard though just to get his attention after u get his attention tell him no or bad boy or something to let him know that he is doing something that he's not supposed to be doing or buy him something to chew on like a chew toy or a bone.
Reply:When ever he bites, yell NO Real lloud.

With my dog, we did this and it fixed the problem. We now play games where he has to pretend to bite us, so he just put his mouth on our arm but uses no pressure. I feel confident that he is not going to bit. He is a Labrador Retriever.
Reply:Scream NO or NO BITE and then stick the dog in it's crate. If you are out of the h.ouse, scream and then ignore it for 10 mississippi seconds. same works with jumping, but you dont scream no bite
Reply:when ever your dog mouths any person lightly hit his nose and say no in a very serious way then place one of his chew toys in his mouth so that he know thats it not ok to bite people but its ok to chew on the toys. it doesnt take long for them to get the idea

Is it bad if you brush your teeth alot?

i brush my teeth alot alot alot, im obsessed with my teeth big time lol, and i use crest whitestrips every now and then (i used to use them everyday but they ran out a while back) anyways.. i dont know how long its been there but i just now noticed white spots near the bottom of my two front top teeth. is it because i brush my teeth too much, and no ive never had braces or anything, what kind of things cause white spots? im scared :[

Is it bad if you brush your teeth alot?
s.. dear... u shudnt brush ur teeth tooo many times.. i mean 3 times its k... but rest of the times if u brush... u shud do it really gently wth a very little tooth paste... coz... evri time u brush ur teeth wth tooth paste ,the abrasive particles in it removes the dirt bi rubbing on it... but if there is no dirt... still its gng to rub on ur enamel... n frequent rubbing can cause wear of enamel...especially if done in the wrong way ... there r certain brushing techniques u shud follow while brushing ur teeth... u can ask ur dentist 4 them... if used improperly... the brush n toothpaste can cause attrition n abrasion of enamel... n also.. use only a soft or medium toothbrush....
Reply:of course not but maybe you shouldn't overdue it keep it to 3-4 times a day or after every meal then its considerably normal
Reply:Oh, I know how that is. I'm also a hygiene freak. I brush at least 3 times a day, floss at least once, rinse with salt water A LOT... I have braces so I can't use whitening.

Anyways, It's not bad for your teeth at all. I mean, 24/7 would be bad but not after every meal or so. As long as you're not brushing too hard it's fine. As far as the white spots go, those aren't formed by over-brushing. That could be decalcification formed by the white strips or a natural cause. They go away over time :) If you're still worried, talk to your dentist.

Good luck!
Reply:Im the same way too. I go through toothbrushes like nothing. as long as your gums are ok I wouldnt say is bad for u, you're just really hygienic. the spots on your teeth could be too much flouride and therefore u get the stains because u were brushing too much and remember toothpastes have chemicals in them.

I have an 8 yr old bull terrier,he snapped his big tooth off,the one at the front.is it major op 2 remove?

He's a little dog. Any operation is risky. But if the vet says it needs to be done - then it NEEDS to b done. Been through much with my dogs. Just take it one step at a time.

I have an 8 yr old bull terrier,he snapped his big tooth off,the one at the front.is it major op 2 remove?
Depends what you call major? It is not a very serious or big op and should not take long. You will have to take the dog to the vet and see what he recommends. The dogs age might count against it and the vet might advise you to have the dog put down. If you have the tooth removed you might have to put the dog on a special diet of soft foods and that might be costly. Good luck
Reply:I don't know how major it is but I believe they do have to put them under anesthesia to do a surgery like that so it could be risky. However, a snapped big tooth in his mouth would be worse. I agree with the people who say to ask your vet because they should know best.
Reply:doesn't matter how big an op it is...its still gunna cost you. You should have thought about that before you got the dog!
Reply:he is at a healthy age for a bull terrior and if he is quite strong and not frail there is nothing to worry about and the bill will come from the national animal vetenary society.
Reply:A good few years ago my golden Retriever broke a big back tooth, the cheapest the vet could do it for was just under £100, that was in West Yorkshire, I bet its gone up since then !!!

Best of luck.
Reply:Probably as the vet will probably have to anesthatise him and may have to cut the gum to get the rest of it out.

Solution for crooked teeth?

Im 19 and my teeth have always been a bit crooked...recently though in the past 6 months i have noticed a lot of movement in them,a large gap has formed about a tooth big between my front and back teeth and also the tooth next to my front one is beginning to move behind another tooth...i don't want my teeth to get any worse, is there any way i can stop them moving or even straiten them out all together? or am i too old now?

My Adult cat lost his big tooth on the bottom? Is this ok? Will it grow back?

Better take him to the vet to make sure everything is okay.

My Adult cat lost his big tooth on the bottom? Is this ok? Will it grow back?
I doubt it will grow back because he is an adult cat, however i'm not a professional. I'd call the vets and explain it and they can tell you. I don't think it will be a big deal though, because it isnt essential to have all teeth.
Reply:Cats, like people, lose their teeth as they age. As long as he can still eat it shouldn't be a problem. No, the tooth will not grow back.
Reply:I don't know, but you had better make sure that it does not get an abscess or infection. It is better to catch it sooner than later, especially if it is an outdoor cat. Good luck...
Reply:Take him to the vet, tooth issue...and listen very carefully....WILL end up killing him if not taken care of.

Don't wait, take him to a vet.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery!
Reply:It won't grow back... He'll be okay as long as there isn't an infection.
Reply:My cat, Bear, lost his tooth a little over a year ago too! He is just fine. Your kitty will be alright too! The tooth will not grow back.
Reply:you will need cat dentures
Reply:ask your vet.
Reply:No it wont grow back but he will be alright.
Reply:If your cat is an adult cat over the age of 1 and his tooth fell out, I would strongly recommend that he see his vet, cats teeth do not fall out like that. His mouth may be irritated and have calculus building up or he may have gingivitis and may require a dental cleaning to correct the problem and prevent further tooth loss. Adult cat teeth are like ours, once it is gone, it's gone for good.
Reply:Anytime an animal loses a tooth there is a reason to be concerned. There has to be a reason that the tooth fell out. Possibly your animal needs teeth cleaning. If the tooth broke and the root is still in the gum there is a chance for infection. I would take your cat to the vet and consult him/her about removing what is left of the tooth and a teeth cleaning. And NO the tooth will not grow back. They have 2 sets of teeth(like us)

I want bigger teeth! how?
That will be expensive. Yes you can get bigger teeth with crowns or veneers. Go to Snaponsmile.com. They are removable and I heard its cheaper than veneers. They fit over your teeth so they make your teeth look bigger and they look like real teeth.

Which has bigger teeth, a hippo or a great white shark?

A hippopotamus.

The molar teeth of a hippopotamus can measure 2 inches x 2 3/4 inches (according to this site, which sells replicas of actual teeth):

http://www.boneclones.com/KO-214.htm

but their tusks can be 28 inches long!

http://www.boneclones.com/KO-006.htm

And as mammals, their teeth are quite massive.

In contrast, the larger great white shark teeth (for sale at this site http://www.buriedtreasurefossils.com/Chi... )

measure 2-5/8". The teeth of sharks are thin and usually very sharp, with one or more cusps. They are much more numerous than the teeth of any mammal and they're arranged in multiple rows; they're used as grasping and cutting tools, not grinding pieces like the molars of mammals.

BTW. Contrary to the Answerer who said that tusks are not teeth, "tusk" is a common name given to the larger teeth of several mammals, especially to those that protrude outside of the mouth. In some mammals, tusks lack enamel (the hard outer covering) and are formed by dentine (=ivory) only, but that does not mean that they're not teeth.

Which has bigger teeth, a hippo or a great white shark?
Hippo: sharks have more, smaller %26amp; sharper teeth.
Reply:The hippo's canine teeth aren't actually teeth at all, they are made of ivory and are called tusks, the hippo's tusks can be as long as 20 inches. While the great white shark can have up to 3000 teeth, theirs are only up to 3 inches long.
Reply:Depends on the animal. Both species have teeth that average 2" - 2.5".
Reply:Those of the Hippo are but great, those of the white shark but are sharpened.
Reply:hippo but great white's have more and are sharper.

Calcium on teeth?

I have a white patch on one big tooth, and on the one next to it a small white dot. If I rub it, I cant feel a difference, so it's not like its plaque or anything. It seems to come and go at times, fades away, comes back, but i havent found a pattern at all. My mom says its calcium, but from what Ive read calcuim deposits dont go away at all!

So doesn anyone have a clue what it could be and how to prevent it??

Calcium on teeth?
The differences in color could be cause by uneven enamel deposition. This is common in children exposed to certain antibiotics in utero, and also to water with too much fluorine in it.

Does anyone has same problem as mine? as my biggest mollars teeth need to be extracted for braces?

I decided to have braces installed a month ago to straighten up my front teeth because I have slightly overbite problem before then my ortho insisted me to pull out 2 top biggest molar teeth (no. 6) as bottom mollars were extracted years ago when I was teenager ....I just wondering if there is anyone has the same story as mine? I find difficult to eat without them though. How long do you think this braces can close the gaps because it feels so wide! I can't stand!!!

Does anyone has same problem as mine? as my biggest mollars teeth need to be extracted for braces?
I had a brace fitted just over a year ago and before they would fit it, i needed 4 teeth (molars) out, this is to allow room for your teeth to straighten out whilst leaving room for wisdom teeth. Otherwise, when your wisdom teeth come through, your teeth will go back to their original state! x
Reply:they also pulled out the last molars before my wisdom teeth. (it hasn't erupted yet). they will heal after 2 days. yes it feels like you can't eat because some teeth are missing but you can manage.i may just feel icky when you take the particles off the holes where teeth used to be..

Whats behind my two front teeth?

ok well u no the two biggest teeth on the top in the middle? well in between them i have something behind the teeth. i thought it was a pimple or something but my mom said i have gums growing there. how can this b gums ON my teeth. and i found out i had gum disease so can that b the reason? is there anyway to get rid of it cuz i cant eat in the middle cuz it hurts and i just cant help it but i keep touchin it with my tounge and it hurts more. im goin to dentist in a week but this is really bothering me. anyone have any ideas. and im 14

Whats behind my two front teeth?
Gum disease causes inflamation of your gums. The gum is not growing on your teeth, however it is very swollen and inflamed. It is possible that you have something stuck under the gum that is causing additional inflamtion. Have you eaten popcorn recently? It is going to be sore. The dentist can clean around it, and get whatever irratants are present out of the gum (this may just be plaque and calculus build-up or something may be lodged in your gum or a combination).

Take a cup and put about a 1/2 ounce of peroxide and a 1/2 ounce of water in it. Take a q-tip and put the peroxide mix on your irritated gums. Leave it there for about a minute and then you can spit, but don't rinse it off. If your whole mouth is inflamed you can rinse it around your mouth as well. Make sure to try and keep it in your mouth on the gums for atleast one minute for it to work well. That should help. They also sell Peroxyl, it is by Colgate and any Walgreens or CVS should have it. It's the same basic thing except it has mint flavoring to it.
Reply:You probably have gingevitus. (wrong spelling probably lol)

You can get rid of it by using special toothpaste your dentist will recommend and brushing more often/flossing every day.

You might have the option of having gum surgery as well.
Reply:Im 14 too. I have NO IDEA. But I do know. I used to have something like that. OK. JUST DONT TOUCH IT. If you keep touching it it will get bgger. so stop touching it.
Reply:It's likely due to your gum disease. Try really hard not to irritate it further with your tongue-maybe get some of the stuff they sell for teething babies to make it less sore-and wait until your dentist appointment.
Reply:You poor thing. I really don't know what it is but I would say try not to mess with it till you get to the dentist. Easier said than done, but if it is gum you want to leave enough so he has something bigger to work with.
Reply:You may want to visit your local pharmacy and have a talk to your pharmacist, I'm certain he/she will be able to help you, with some sort of numbing cream/gel for your gums - until you are able to visit your dentist.
Reply:sounds like your papilla. i'm not sure that i'm spelling that correctly. it's the spot that gets burned when you eat hot pizza. you may have irritated it. it could also b a fistula. an infection that would require a root canal. usually looks like a pimple above the tooth in your gums. go to the dentist office. they'll take an x-ray and see whats going on.

Ok I need help... (it is teeth help!) ?

Well I really like my smile. (I am not bragging) but i LOVE it! SoI had a denist appointment (just a check up) and they said that I still had baby teeth. Noth my front teeth, or the ones beside that, but the ones beside that. I was supposed to lose them at 10 or 11 and I am 13 and never lost them yet. So the one on the left side started to come in. It is really high up on my gums and overlaps another tooth with it. When I smile you can see it and it looks weird! But I need to pull out the baby tooth and I dont know how. are there any ideas on how to get it out?? Serious answers please. the denist wont pull it. and! when will the other tooth come in on the other side. Cause on the left i will have a bigger tooth that the right. AHH! i will have to get braces too. it stinks... :(

Ok I need help... (it is teeth help!) ?
Just keep wiggling it. I had that happen also. They were very anxious to put my braces on so they told me on a friday that they were going to pull two of my teeth on the following wednesday. I was absolutely terrified to get it pulled so I wiggled and wiggled and wiggled an I got them both out within three days. Just keep wiggling! I told my friend who had two weeks before he had to get them pulled and he didnt believe me but he got his out too. Godd luck :)
Reply:You can't pull the tooth out until it gets loose, but teeth at that age are a pain in the neck. It'll take years to get the perfect smile unless you're teeth magically fall into place.
Reply:braces arnt that bad! i've had them for 6 months. they were sore the first 2 weeks or so, but im so used to them sometimes i forget they are there. :]]

and the tooth...hmm.

if the dentist wont pull it, its probably because he cant! and it will make your teeth worse...and will have more problems in the future..dont worry sweetie. it'll work out. i really think you should just leave it alone.
Reply:Everything changes it's just how things go. You need to let your body run it's natural course when it comes to teeth. I know you think it looks bad, but just keep taking good care of them. Brush and floss regularly so that even if you think you have crooked teeth they are healthy and they can be fized with braces. A lot of people have braces, and it's perfectly normal. Enjyo that you've had a great smile so far and in the near future your dentist can correct what you see as a flaw. Congradulations, you're growing up :)
Reply:This is how teeth work.....your permanent teeth form in the 'crotch' of the deciduous (baby) teeth. The permanent tooth then pushes the deciduous tooth out and takes its place. Sometimes people have congenitally missing teeth, which means that they do not have the permanent tooth under the baby tooth. In this case, the dentist will try to keep that baby tooth in as long as possible. However, I think you're saying that this isn't the case. My advice to you is to let you teeth fall out naturally. If you try extracting teeth yourself, this can cause damage to the teeth, gingiva, and possibly the bone. The dentist is a skilled professional and you need to follow his advice...he teels you these things for a good reason.
Reply:try and make the tooth loose

like shake it alot and bite on hard stuff

work3d 4 me my teeth were like that 2..

but it will hurt when you make it loose half way gotta do the whole thing at once

Help!!!!! I've got big time tooth ache!!!!?

I've had tooth ache for the past 2weeks, but i'm too scared to go to the dentist!!!! Any1 else have a big time fear of the dentist????

Help!!!!! I've got big time tooth ache!!!!?
If you don't get brave and go to the dentist then here are some pain-relieving tips! I had my wisdom teeth out earlier this year (all four, general anaesthetic - was terrified and had to be sedated but ended up the best decision I'd made!) I found the best thing was an anaesthetic/antiseptic mouthwash like Corsodyl helped to make my mouth feel cleaner and less likely to become minging! Then a couple of extra strength Ibuprofen, as directed on the packet. Finally I'd advise a wheat and lavender pillow (from health food shops) that you warm in the microwave. Stick it on your cheek (seriously!) The warmth relieves pain, and the lavender helps you sleep! Good luck xx
Reply:Yes. I hate the the dentist but you are only prolonging the inedible.

Go to the dentist. What could potentially be a toothache could turn into something worse, like a root canal needing to be done, or a dry socket. You will only get into more pain in the future. It's not worth waiting for. It's worth going through the fear aspect, then it is for the pain aspect. A really bad tooth ache will make you want to bang your head against the wall.
Reply:im right there with u girl, but eventually the pain gets too much for me an i'll have to go, but after ive been i realise the fear of going was worse than the treatment and im fine till the next time, when i will suffer that fear all over again.
Reply:you ain't gonna fix it if you don't go.

cloves can relieve pain

whiskey can too, or at least stop you caring after a while (you have to hold the scotch in your mouth over the sore tooth for as long as possible without swallowing it)

a chemist will sell you a tincture

but all these are temporary - you need to get it fixed.
Reply:i used to have a fear of the dentist, then i had a bad absyss and was very ill,i now go every 6 months to the dentist and have a check up.Just get the nerve to go and get it sorted.
Reply:Yes my husband he even hyperventilates i go with him and i can hold his hand the whole time (understanding dentist) we manage its better than suffering tooth ache your doctor could proscribe you a Valium tablet for the day you go but you must not drive if you do this. good luck.
Reply:I had a big time fear of the dentist and I had toothache and in the end I just went, and she told me I had to go back after taking some tablets. the tablets worked and it didn't hurt any more but she tricked me into going back and i have had to have a filling, literally this afternoon, my mouth is still numb but its not to bad!! she even tried to give me the filling with out anestetic!!!
Reply:I dont lik d dentist bt i realised dat it is much better 2 go coz since d last tim i went (tooth ache) i feel MUCH better!!!
Reply:Rinse your mouth with a good strong listerine mouth wash several

times a day, keeping was in mouth for at least 1 full minute...

Take antibiotics...

Take aspirin....

This will probably offer a temporary cure...
Reply:My husband was petrified of dentist`s ! had tooth ache for over 10 year`s he got used to the pain after a while ! it stemmed from having a tooth out when he was younger , but it took 4 different dentist`s to eventually pull the tooth out , then it got badly infected , but 2 years ago he finally faced his fears and went to a new dentist , they sorted his 10 year tooth ache out in 5 minutes seems he had a small hole in his tooth , now he will not miss an appointment , he can`t understand what all the fuss was about and he realises that not all dentist`s are butcher`s like the one he had when he was younger , Face your fears now before it get`s as bad as my husband`s was ! Taking pain killer`s to ease the pain is not good for you ! my husband took 8 pain killer`s every day for 10 years !!!!!!!!!
Reply:I used to have dental phobia! I didn't go to the dentist for like 6 years till i had a really big tooth ache and even then i lived with the pain for months! Then i finally couldn't take it anymore! i went to the dentist and even before he looked at my mouth i was crying like a baby lol! Anyway i found a really great dentist who know how to work with people with the dental phobia, i am not scared anymore i even like going to the dentist! Please GO ASAP i ended up having root canal and dentist was able to save my tooth but i just went to the dentist with my friend last nite who too was scared and lived with the toot ache and dentist had to pulled out three of her teeth they were beyond root canal or anything else to save it! Find a really good dentist! Ask your friends or family I am sure they know the good one!
Reply:No one likes going to the dentist (unless there a bit weird) cloves or clove oil will help temporarily but confront your fear and go to the dentist it's better than suffering.

Good luck.

None of the above. I go "Booga booga booga". Freaks the hell out of people. Sometimes, just for fun,I'll hide away, pop up and say "Peeka-boo"

Toothpaste? It leaves a big smile on your face, and kills bugs.

If ur wisdome teeth r fully thru, is it still sore getting them removed. are the roots big. do i need drugs?

Son, you might always need drugs. Especially for your obvious problem.

If ur wisdome teeth r fully thru, is it still sore getting them removed. are the roots big. do i need drugs?
your dentist will give you pain killers, yes it hurts, but so worth it!
Reply:Yes it will still cause some pain getting them removed. You will likely need some medication to get through a day or two. You also need to be careful not to get a dry socket which is very painful but if you follow the doc's instructions you should be fine. If the teeth are fully in it will probably cause less problems.
Reply:never pass up the opportunity to take a few pain killers.

the good thing about pain killer is they kill the pain.

Reply:I have similar reoccuring dreams about losing my teeth. It's a very common dream, actually. I've heard it has to do with feeling insecure about your appearance. (I also have reoccuring dreams about flunking college algebra and not practicing for piano lessons. I graduated from college 3 years ago and haven't taken piano lessons in a LONG time!)
Reply:"My Teeth Are Falling"

Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap.Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Other Perspectives

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.

According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.

It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.

Reply:I had 2 recurring dreams for 38 years . They were horrible nitemares and I couldn't understand why. Then at 38 , I found out I had a prebirth exposure to light and realized the nitemare had total connection to exposure. Haven't reoccurred for almost 10 years .

As far as the bag and teeth go, remember to floss daily and see your dentist 2 times a year. The black bag might mean you are looking for something .
Reply:I used to have dreams about losing teeth. It represents your friends saying bad things about you behind your back. That's definitely a prominent anxiety I have. I'm such a loser, even my unconscious tells me so.

Sorry, I don't know about the trash bag.
Reply:Thats not a very nice dream. Traditionally it means that we might be aware of some sort of tradition. It may also mean that you are anxious about becoming/being mature or less desierable. You may be feeling a little vulnerable or helpless in your life at the moment. take control of situations, and maybe go to the dentist; just in case! ;P
