Gray-ish dark spot on my big front tooth?

The left big front tooth, whatever its called, has a slightly-visible gray-ish dark spot on the front top of it, and on the back if I use a mirror. I don't know if its a cavity or not, but I'm going to find out this week probably. Do you all have any ideas what it could be, if not a cavity? My dad has the same thing kinda, but mine is more visible beacuse my teeth are whiter. Plus, I'm using crest white strips, so could that have anything to do with it? Thanks a lot,

Ryan

you had an accident? did you hit your tooth or something a trauma happened?

discoloration can be cavity or a dead pulp... if as you say it's graish dark, it sounds like a tooth which went under trama and the pulp died...

you need to see a DDS soon..
Reply:It could be a dead nerve in your tooth....
Reply:household bleach, its the same stuff teeth whiteners use.
