If you see a very little black spot on your teeth (beggening of cavity) how long will it take it to get big?

if it was a very small spot like this one http://www.dentalproducts.net/xml/0501/v... how long would it take it to big and gets to the roots.

That may not be a cavity.

Also, you may not see a cavity grow. The decay will work itself within your tooth to your root.

Just go to a dentist and take care of it.
Reply:I think a week to 2 weeks. but i could be wrong. i've had 4 of them. but i would get it checked out.
Reply:Usually months, but take care of it sooner than later, as it's cheaper, better, and less painful! They can fix the tiny ones with a new technique, not needing a real filling. It takes just minutes.
Reply:not long at all. If you catch it fast its better, for you. By 6 months that little spot would probably grown in size by 10 times. So take care of it so they would not have to drill a big hole.
Reply:Different for each person and Life style and dental daily tasks
Reply:Cool picture. It might take a couple of months for you to feel discomfort when eating sweets, or with hot/cold. Another four months to get to the root which will be quite expensive to fix. Root canals run in the 900's. I'd have it fixed right away.
Reply:Well most of my back teeth have little black spots like that on them and they'd been there for years and never caused me any problems, but then I went to the dentist recently and he said I needed to get fillings in them all. So you should probably go to your dentist and get a filling before it does get big, cos then it'll hurt a lot more.
