I have an 8 yr old bull terrier,he snapped his big tooth off,the one at the front.is it major op 2 remove?

He's a little dog. Any operation is risky. But if the vet says it needs to be done - then it NEEDS to b done. Been through much with my dogs. Just take it one step at a time.

Depends what you call major? It is not a very serious or big op and should not take long. You will have to take the dog to the vet and see what he recommends. The dogs age might count against it and the vet might advise you to have the dog put down. If you have the tooth removed you might have to put the dog on a special diet of soft foods and that might be costly. Good luck
Reply:I don't know how major it is but I believe they do have to put them under anesthesia to do a surgery like that so it could be risky. However, a snapped big tooth in his mouth would be worse. I agree with the people who say to ask your vet because they should know best.
Reply:doesn't matter how big an op it is...its still gunna cost you. You should have thought about that before you got the dog!
Reply:he is at a healthy age for a bull terrior and if he is quite strong and not frail there is nothing to worry about and the bill will come from the national animal vetenary society.
Reply:A good few years ago my golden Retriever broke a big back tooth, the cheapest the vet could do it for was just under £100, that was in West Yorkshire, I bet its gone up since then !!!

Best of luck.
Reply:Probably as the vet will probably have to anesthatise him and may have to cut the gum to get the rest of it out.
