Help! My teeth are see-through! How can I restore enamel?

So I think I must grind my teeth when I sleep or something and anyway, the enamel in my two big front teeth and one of the teeth just to (my) right of them have been losing enamel for a while. I don't have dental insurance anymore so I haven't been to the dentist for a few years (I'm 25 years old now) anyway, they have gotten pretty bad looking, you can literally see through them somewhat on the bottoms of them and they look yellower than the rest of my teeth. There is also a yellow spot on my right big tooth that kind of looks like a popcorn kernel stuck in between my big tooth and the other littler one with enamel problems also. Anyway, it is making me much less confident with my smile and looks very bad. Is there anything I can do to regrow my enamel or something and also does anyone know what that yellow spot might be? Thanks!

lol... its natural character in your teeth. translucency is normal! some people have none, and some people have alot. its not your enamel thats wearing down, in fact it doesnt sound like there is anything wrong at all. i am a dental technician. have been for 15 years. i make new teeth (crowns/caps) for a living. part of my job is to match the new tooth to the patients natural teeth. we do this with a ceramic stain. well, when a person has "character" in there teeth, we have to mimic that too. the "yellow" spot is called hypocalcifacation. sometimes the spots are white, sometimes yellow. sometimes some one will have many tiny spots and some people have 1 large one. there is no way to get rid of it without dental work, and its not caused by any problem. trust me, the spots, and translucency are nothing more that your unique tooth character. i wish i could show you some of the stuff we have to stain into peoples teeth..
Reply:Call a dentist and ask about bonding, which coats your teeth and improves color and density. There's all kinds on new procedures out there. Let the dentist take a look and give you some options.

Even if you don't have insurance, ask about a payment plan and then do it. It's worth it for the self-confidence. Good luck.
Reply:If the enamel on your teeth is thinning the yellow spot on your tooth could be the material, dentin which is yellow, that is below your enamel. A good fluoride rinse could help repair your enamel. Whitening could help with the color.

Sorry, the best solution is to go to the dentist.
