her big teeth got a little brown with a brownish plaque around the base and the others are clean but very worn down. what can i do to prolong her oral health? is there a veterinary treatment that could be helpful at this point to repair some of the damage?
My dog is 11 years old and has worn teeth what can i do to help?
worn teeth are normal,,, as for the plaque,, simply buy a dental tooth scraper and gently clean the teeth... should be done once a week.... simple , easy and make it part of your weekly nail trimming, tooth cleaning , ear cleaning schedule
Reply:get teeth cleaned.. and maybe swtch to softer foods...it is doggie age....happens...
Reply:Having her teeth cleaned by the vet is one option. It will help fight against inflammed gums. The vet can also check for bad teeth and remove them if necessary. It's expensive because they have to put them "under". You can't repair the damage - she's an older dog and if she's healthy, happy and eating well then that's all you really want want for her.
Reply:Make an appointment to see your vet... They will want to do a teeth cleaning procedure.. This involves anesthesia. Because of the age of your pet, they'll probably want to do a blood scanning before administering the anesthesia. This is for your pet's safety, it will check the values of the major organs and also the red and white blood cell count... This way, if they find anything out of ordinary they know to either cancel the procedure or use a specific kind of anesthesia. But this will clean the tartar off the teeth... Its very important because tartar can lead to kidney and heart disease in dogs. Contact your local vet for more information and tips for keeping your pet's teeth clean and healthy. They'll also give you information on specific foods for your pet since her teeth are wearing down. Good Luck!!
Reply:go to a vet, they offer cleaning the teeth of your dog.
Reply:Your vet can clean the teeth that need it and also look for any that need to be pulled if necessary. But if your thinking like putting caps on or doing any kind of restoration work It has been done but it cost a arm and a leg.
Get you dog into the vets for just a cleaning and then see what your vet recomends from that point on ok.
