I just got my braces off like, 2 days ago and my teeth look really big and yellow... any sugestions?

Well, this means that you didn't brush enough with the braces on, so you can always get cosmetic surgery, but you should have brushed better when you had them on.

Reply:Use the whitening strips, get them proffesionally whitened, brush regularly, perhaps consider using some baking soda when brushing to remove a coat of enamel :)
Reply:Mine were big too when I got them off. Still are. I'm not sure about the yellow part. Maybe it means you need to brush more often.

Reply:brush for like 20 min straight on the gums to get all of the acids off and tell you orthadontist to do his job and pollish the glue of your teeth

Reply:You're probably not used to seeing your exposed teeth, like I wasn't. However, you should go to the same dentist that did your braces and ask to get them whitened. If you have a future appointment with him already, just call up and ask if you can get them whitened while you're at it.
Reply:for the yellowness, brush your teeth one more time a day and it will go away. cant help you with the bigness.

Reply:they probably aren't big, you just aren't used to seeing your whole teeth. use whitening toothpaste and maybe some white strips or some other bleaching product. don't go overboard - i remember feeling the same way when i got my braces off and eventually they'll be normal.
Reply:Buy whitening toothpaste, Whitening Gum, and buy Listerine Whitening Strips which are hasslefree- they dissolve in your mouth. Should be all clear in a week or two.

Reply:You could have a professional cleaning. I swish with peroxide before every brushing.... helps bleach them white. Just be careful to NOT SWALLOW any of it. That with some whitening strips should help too.

Reply:sucks for you, babe. my mom's braces stained her teeth permanently (like it's been 15 years and they still have yellow marks) go back to the orthodontist and ask NOW! before the stain's on there forever.


(try scraping your fingernail over your teeth first though... see if it'll rub off).
Reply:Do you have to wear a retainer or any kind of appliance?? Both my kids just had braces removed and (in the last 6-8 months) and they both used the crest white strips until last month and they both got the dentist to give them a type of bleaching agent that they can put into their retainers for about 15 minutes a day and you would not believe how much whiter their teeth are...GOOD LUCK!!!
