Well I have been in theater for 5 years and Im partaking film now. I'm attending an open call and I have no idea what to expect. It has always bugged me that my teeth weren't perfectly straight. My face isnt fully cleared up from acne theirs just a few little bumps not really noticable is this a big minus? I know this is a minus in modeling though...
Is straight teeth or uncleared face big deal in an acting audition?
Acting isn't as bad with that as modeling, but if you have noticable acne, and poor looking teeth, your chances are decreased by a lot.
If you think about it, you never see anyone on tv with bad teeth or acne, come to think of it, I've seen very few.
If its something makeup can fix, however, you shouldn't worry about a few black heads.
Reply:i would focus on the acne more than the teeth.
Reply:Depends on what you are audtioning for I suppose.
Reply:I would guess your acting ability is more important than beauty.....not every character in a movie is beautiful and perfect. I mean look at Toni Collette........she is pretty but not perfect and Joe Pecshi is short.
Reply:Depends on the role and what the casting director is looking for. If they are looking for a hill billy looking pock marked face freak witha toothless grin. You might be perfect
Reply:Focus on getting the acne under control. Try Proactiv or something to clear up your face.
As for the teeth, maybe try whitening them. So if they see your crooked teeth they'll at least be pearly white, which could make a difference.
Of course you could do nothing and audition for a part of a geeky teenager or something that would require an appearance like that.
Reply:If it was a stage play I wouldn't worry too much its not like they can zoom in on your face. If your teeth are a little unstraight and you have a few zits I don't see any big deal really. Haven't you ever seen the Jessica Simpson and the P.Diddy commercials. It didn't hurt them any. Concentrate on your actin ability :)
