ive had my braces about 2 years and a couple of months ago i noticed a gap was forming between 2 of my top teeth. it has gotten bigget and as a result the tooth is pushing up against another tooth. also has your braces messed up your speech?
Have your braces caused a big gap between any teeth?
omg that`s exacly what happened to me, and my speech didn`t get messed up, but they did close it by putting connected elastics
Reply:When I fist got my braces they messed up my speech. No mine did not cause a big gap between my teeth. Talk 2 the person u see about that.
Reply:are your braces still on and your getting a gap? if not -
wear your retainer!!!
if you dont have one or it no longer fits due to the shifting of your teeth...
GO back to your Orthodontist! He can take a lookey and hopefully get you back on the "straight and narrow".
sometimes braces can affect your speech in the first few days after your wires are tightened or maybe if your resting "bite" is thrown off due to the shifting of your teeth.
Good Luck!!! = o)
Reply:braces do mess up ur speech and they do cause gaps. ur orthodontist will decide wat to do about the gap but if you want to you can contact them and ask or ask at ur next visit.
Reply:yessss. i've got a gap and i HATEEE IT. but im going to the ortho on saturday and he said he'd do something to make it close up a bit faster. i'm realllly looking forward to that! lol
Reply:Yeah, I've had mine for a year and I'm forming gaps between a few of my molars and premolars. Sometimes they have to in order to fix the alignment of your jaw. Ask your orthodontist why this is happening. You'd be surprised of the techniques used in orthodontics.
No, my braces never impaired my speech, but that's just me. They usually do. Once your teeth are all straightened up your speech will be fine.
Good luck!
